Tuesday, 15 March 2011 17:09

We continue to publish results of online surveys conducted on www.arpp.ru.

After survey is carried out over a period of 1 - 2 weeks, its results are summarized. Over 3,500 people participated in more than 60 surveys conducted since 2006.

We bring to your attention the results of an online survey

"How reliable are self-reported imprint newspaper and magazine circulation figures?"

The absolute majority of voters agreed with the statement "imprint circulation figures are meaningless because these figures do not reflect actual sales and write-offs”  - 58.8%

About 41% of voters have answered differently:

"The figures are misleadingly inaccurate; circulation figures are routinely inflated in order to influence advertisers’ decisions”  - 25.5%

"Only publications that are routinely inspected by Circulation Services have accurate imprint circulation figures" - 15.7%

At the same time, not a single voter agreed with the statement "imprint circulations figures are absolutely accurate because it is required by the law on mass media".

We hope that you find this information useful as well as interesting. We also hope for a continuing participation of publishers and distributors to allow for the trends in the media market to be determined accurately.
