FAS is against the anti-piracy tax too

The Federal Antimonopoly Service of Russia (FAS) does not approve the idea of charging the Internet users an anti-piracy tax, said the Deputy Minister for Antimonopoly Anatoly Golomolzin.

“We believe that telecom services industry must support the accelerated economic growth. Manufacturers of good and services should be taxed, not the enabling industries. There should be no obstacles or constraints on them,” – he said.

Distripress condemns attack on French publisher Charlie Hebdo

Distripress today strongly condemned the murderous attack on the offices of French satirical publisher Charlie Hebdo in Paris. “We join the global outrage at this atrocity and see this as not only being a brutal and cowardly act against the French publisher and its innocent staff but as an attack on freedom of the press generally. Distripress members want to express their shock at this barbaric act and to send their sympathy and condolences to the victims and their families” said Distripress President Carine Nevejans.
Distripress is a trade association based in Zurich but with a global membership of over 300 Distributors and
Publishers from 70 countries.

Source: LifeNews plans to cut up to half of the staff before the New Year

LifeNews edition ready to cut to half it’s staff in the coming weeks. This was told to TJ by several sources familiar with the situation within the company.

According to the sources, the leadership came to this decision about two weeks ago. On which of the employees will leave the company in the first place, became known on Dec. 16.

Large-scale downsizing is due to the difficult financial situation of NewsMedia. In this regard, the company also canceled the New Year corporate celebration.
