A new foundation devoted to supporting independent media in Russia is now accepting applications from independent media outlets in need of financial support. The fund, called Sreda (meaning "environment"), has been created and financed by scientist and businessman Dmitry Zimin, founder of popular Russian telecommunications company Beeline. The United States Postal Service reported more bad news today when it revealed its fiscal third quarter net loses equaled $2 billion, dramatically higher than the $740 million it lost in the same period in 2013. A #FreeAndrewcampaign initiated by the International Information News Agency RossiyaSegodnya to support its photographer Andrei Stenin, who went missing in the combat zone in Ukraine’s east, started in Moscow Sunday. Volunteers are distributing photos taken by Stenin with a call to support demands for his release in social networks. The campaign is taking place near RIA Novosti information agency headquarters next to metro station Park Kultury, in Pushkin Square and at the entrance to Gorky Park. Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law allowing to advertise beer in Russian stadiums, the document is published on the official website of legal information.
