The Russian electronic books market is estimated at 250 million rubles

In comparisonwith 2011 themarket for electronicbooks in Russia, according toexperts,is developing successfully andhas almostdoubled.

Such are the market estimations by Sergei Anuriev, CEO of "LitRes", who said that a large market share of its revenue comes from of e-books sales, around 200 million rubles a year.

Russian has become the second most popular language on Internet

Russian language came in second place in popularity on the Internet, slightly beating German. These are the results of W3Techs research.

Leading in the list of major languages of the worldwide network belongs to English, with 54.7 percent of the total number of pages and documents published. Russian and German languages have shares at 5.9 percent, but the Russian segment is bigger.

Market trends for Press sales in supermarkets In Russia

Demand analysis for periodicals on like for like objects (i.e. comparable trading facilities), conducted by specialists of "Media Distribution" company, shows that the majority of the realized circulation comes for daily and weekly publications.

Herewith the dynamics of demand for daily newspapers in supermarkets is negative. In 2012 compared to 2011, the reduction of its 8.5% was due to reduced sales of newspapers, an advertising theme and entertainment media. At the same time the demand for social-political newspapers is  characterized by strong growth, particularly in the case of priority laying out in areas with high consumer traffic.

Russia - the fastest growing e-commerce market in Europe

The GWI data from the last quarter of 2012 indicated Russia as the fastest growing e-commerce market in Europe, with 19.59% growth between Q2 2012 and Q4 2012. This is based on the percentage change in the number of GWI respondents who purchased a product online via PC in the past month.

The growth of 19.59% in the last 6 months of 2012 is nearly five times higher than the average 4% calculated across nine European countries surveyed by GWI. The total e-commerce activity on PC in Russia has risen by 93.13% over the period of 18 months with an average growth rate of 23.28% every six months. This makes Russia the absolute growth leader in European e-commerce.
