Controlled Russian TV Channels Leak Secret Designs Of Nuclear Torpedo

With many analysts believing that the "secret' document was broadcast on objective to show off Russia's nuclear capabilities, Kremlin officials claim the revelation of the submarine was accidental".

Russian President Vladimir Putin (center) chairs a meeting on the defense industry at the Bocharov Ruchei state residence in Sochi, Russia on November 10, 2015. The footage has been removed from television.

Oops! Or as Putin's spokesman Dmitry Peskov put it, "It's true a few secret data got into the shot, therefore it was subsequently deleted". “We hope this will not happen again.”Independent experts noted, however, that it would be hard to imagine cameramen of state TV stations doing a close up on any documents on the table during a Kremlin meeting on military issues.

Yet commentators on the Echo of Moscow radio station suggested on Thursday that the television broadcast was hardly an accident given the tight control over the state news media here. Russian Federation has long maintained that this missile-defense shield is meant to neutralize its nuclear forces.

Later, a Russian ambassador to Denmark warned the country faced nuclear destruction for having backed the missile defence plans of the US. "And now we are talking about development of new types of weapons", Putin said.

Rossiiskaya Gazeta called the torpedo a "robotic mini submarine", going at 100 nautical miles (185km/h; 115mph), which would "prevent all acoustic tracking devices as well as other snares".

It details a nuclear submarine launched weapon that if primed with a nuclear warhead could cause wide spread destruction and radioactive contamination of key enemy coastal areas.

On Thursday, Peskov dismissed allegations that the decision of Medvedev to represent Russian Federation at the APEC summit came because he reportedly enjoys better relations with U.S. President Barack Obama, who is also expected to attend the summit.

“"We have pointed out that these actions [construction of the shield] are an attempt to undermine the nuclear parity principle, and to destabilize the existing world and regional order." "This is alarming in light of the translation of the mission of the drone" to disrupting an adversary's economy by causing massive radioactive contamination for long periods, Schneider said.

In May, North Atlantic Treaty Organisation condemned Russia's plans to deploy nuclear-capable missiles in Kaliningrad, a Russian region sandwiched between Lithuania and Poland, as well as its increased number of nuclear bomber flights.
