Medvedev criticized the "Russian Post"

At a meeting on the development strategy of "Russian Post” before 2023 The Prime Minister pointed out, that the national carrier is in an extremely difficult situation.

Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev criticized the Russian Post", noting that the national carrier is currently in a very difficult situation: an imperfect system of management, manual mail processing and low wages.

"Post’s activity is subject of tremendous criticism. Lots of complaints and unfavourable comments. People wait for their parcels, letters, different sent items for several months, and sometimes it looks absolutely terrible - it's just all thrown in a landfill and does not reach the recipient", - said Medvedev at a meeting on the draft strategy for the development of the national postal operator "Russian Post" untill 2023.

According to him, there are a lot of unpleasant situations. "Today, the national operator is in a very difficult situation as a result of internal problems. These are disadvantages of the management system, a very old infrastructure, large amount of manual labour in mail processing, low wages," - said Medvedev.

The Prime Minister also noted the low level of employees. "Wages in the post today lags behind almost half the national average. Obviously it's difficult to retain skilled people. Many of those who work, work out of habit ... This problem must be solved," - said the Head of the government.

He noted that the "Russian Post" is an institute of communications and an element of public infrastructure.

"Mail does not just bring parcels, letters and newspapers. We believe that it is the national postal operator that shall maintain the political and economic unity of the country, its integrity", - said Medvedev.
