Printed media audience in Novosibirsk reduced by 30 %

On October 18, within the VI Novosibirsk City Media Forum a round table on "The current trends in printed and electronic media" was held on in the City Hall. The results of the survey "The audience and ratings of Novosibirsk media", held in September 2013, were presented to journalists.

 

According to the head of Information policy department of Novosibirsk city hall Sergei Neshumov, the main objective of the study is to assist in the development of the media market:  "We have decided to provide ratings of the media, because the market is rapidly changing. We wanted to identify both positive and negative trends", - said Mr. Neshumov.

According to the survey (800 citizens of Novosibirsk were questioned ), television remains as the most popular media, which looks 89 % of the respondents. Popularity of the Internet since 2008 has almost doubled : 43% of the citizens of Novosibirsk prefer to learn news through the world wide web. The audience of newspapers and magazines is reduced significantly: over the past 5 years it has reduced by one third (from 73 % to 42 %). Radio rating fells to 49%.

The most popular sources of information for Novosibirsk, according to the results of a survey of all medias, are socio-political program "News" on TV channel " Russia 1" and the site ngs.ru. The most widely read newspaper was " Telesem ", and the most popular radio station - " Radio Villa" .
