The PDA’s XXIV media conference opened in Egypt

The PDA’s
XXIV International Conference "Market of printed and electronic media: condition, problems and trends" was opened on April 6 at Sharm el-Sheikh (Egypt). More than 60 representatives from the Federal State Unitary Enterprise "Russian Post", the leading publishing houses and distribution companies from Astrakhan, Barnaul, Yekaterinburg, Krasnodar, Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod, St. Petersburg, Smolensk, Chita, as well as Belarus, Kazakhstan and Ukraine are attending.


Chairman of the Board of PDA Alexander Oskin inaugurate the conference. He noted that the Russian media industry is facing numerous problems and crisis events. This conference is aimed to seek answers on burning problems, or at least to boost their solving.

President of PDA Dmitry Martynov addressed the conference with the report „"Market of printed and electronic media: condition, problems and trends", where he analyzed the current situation in the Russian market of printed media, identified common trends in foreign markets, formulated a range of problems faced by media industry in the digital revolution age.

The Executive director of the Alliance of leaders of regional mass media of Russia S. Dubinskaya in her video message to the participants of the Conference supported the thesis of Joint efforts of publishers and distributors in their struggle to preserve the printed press market.

The first day of the conference was completed by a round table on "Mechanisms of rescue of kiosk networks from financial ruin," which was held by the general director of "ARPI" Siberia", a PDA Board member S. Gavrilov.
