Domashny Ochag Festival

The Sixth Domashny Ochag family festival was a huge success. Held on December 7-9 at the Central House of Artists on Krymsky Val, the event drew approximately 25,000 visitors and the participation of more than 100 companies. IKEA, the Domashny television channel, Dacha radio and the Pomogatel.ru Internet portal served as partners to the festival.

Per tradition, the festival space was divided into several sectors: beauty, home, kitchen, children, Vkusno i Polezno (Tasty and Wholesome) and a souvenir shop. Participating companies conducted interactive programs at their booths that included workshops, quizes, talks, food tasting, product sampling, contests, raffles and much more.

Domashny Ochag magazine prepared a full program in its festival zones – in the children’s and adult’s art studios, in the Vkusno i Polezno kitchen and in its parlor or living room area. Visitors made Christmas lunches, learned not only new ways to decorate their homes for the New Year and to set the holiday table but also how to fashion handmade greeting cards, gifts and carnival hats. They also had plenty of opportunity to chat with interesting guests and to simply relax.

The Quelle company organized a boudoir for the festival at which women could feel like queens by trying on beautiful dresses and testing make-up and hair styles before strolling down a fashion catwalk accompanied by pleasant music and the flashing lights of cameras. Life Academy representative Larisa Renar conducted a workshop on flirting and the art of conversation. Workshops on aikido and yoga were also held for the first time at a Domashny Ochag festival.

Festival partner Pomogatel.ru provided mothers with the opportunity to leave their children under the supervision of experienced personnel. The Crocs company provided an amusing theatrical performance for the kids and students from the Academy of Children’s Musicals sang the festival anthem and taught everyone how to dance and sing. The Hasbro company engaged children with new games and toys they could use on the spot and representatives of the Timiryazevsky Museum conducted fascinating chemistry experiments.

In the Vkusno i Polezno zone, guests could sample and buy tea and coffee, sweets and pastries, grains and nuts, caviar and cheese and all sorts of delicatessen foods – in short, everything a person could want for the New Year’s table.

Guests felt right at home, and everyone left the Domashny Ochag festival with smiles and a cheerful holiday mood.
