57% of Russians are Internet users

The number of Internet users in Russia is permanently growing.

The number of Internet users in Russia has increased from 52% to 57% since last year. These data were published by "Levada Center" as a result of All-Russian public inquiry.

The research shows that the percentage of Russians, who use Internet as a main source of news, has significantly increased from 19% to 25%. The quantity of respondents, who search for some information or fun and communicate using the World Wide Web, is 4-5% up on last year. It is 43%? 27% and 36% respectively.

According to the poll 12% of Russians are looking this way for information on what is happening in Russia and abroad, 22% of them are interested in movies, 21% – in music, 15% make purchases and 12% of respondents read e-books.
